Where to Find Your Serial Number or VIN on Your Electric Scooter or Dirt Bike

Your serial number, and on an electric dirt bike your VIN, is the key to warranty, registration, parts, and support. Here is exactly where to find it: underneath the deck on a stand-up scooter, between the foot pegs on a seated scooter, and beside the head tube on an electric dirt bike. Includes a short video.

Sooner or later you will need your serial number, and on an electric dirt bike, your VIN. It is what you give us for a warranty claim, what the DMV wants for registration, what makes sure you order the exact right part, and what your insurer asks for. The good news is that it is easy to find once you know where to look, and it lives in a different spot depending on what you ride. Here is a quick video, then the exact locations.

Where to find your serial number or VIN

  1. 1
Stand-up electric scooter: underneath the deck

Tilt or lay the scooter on its side and look at the underside of the standing deck. The serial number label is usually printed or stamped there.

  2. 2
Seated electric scooter: between the foot pegs

Look in the area between the two foot pegs, on the frame or the underside of the deck between them. That is where the serial number sits on most seated models.

  3. 3
Electric dirt bike: beside the head tube (your VIN)

On an electric dirt bike, look on the frame right beside the head tube set at the front of the bike, where the fork and steering meet the frame. That is where the VIN is stamped.

Why it is worth finding now

It is one of those things you always need at the worst possible moment, so it pays to find it before you need it. Your serial number or VIN is what lets us verify your warranty and pull up your exact machine, what your state uses to register or title an eligible bike, what guarantees you get the correct part the first time instead of a close guess, and what your insurer needs on file. Take two minutes today, find it, and you will thank yourself later.

Quick tip

Once you find it, snap a clear photo with your phone and save it somewhere easy to reach, along with your order confirmation. That way you have your serial number or VIN in your pocket whenever a shop, the DMV, or your insurer asks for it.
