The Inmotion RS Midnight is a dual-motor machine, which means it has a front controller and motor and a rear controller and motor, all reporting to one display. If something ever needs your attention, the scooter tells you with a numbered error code on the TFT display instead of leaving you guessing. This is the complete list of Inmotion RS error codes, what each one means, and the first thing to do about it. There is also one thing worth knowing before you ever see a code: where you buy the scooter decides how easy it is to get help when you need it.
Read the code like a map
The numbering tells you where to look. Codes in the 100s are the front controller and motor. Codes in the 200s are the rear controller and motor. Codes in the low numbers, like 003 to 007, are shared parts like the battery, brakes, and throttle.
Front controller error codes (100s)
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 101 | Front controller current fault | Turn the scooter off and on again to see if the code stays. If it does, the front controller needs replacement. |
| 102 | Front motor hall sensor fault | Check the wiring from the motor to the controller, including the connectors, for damage or a loose connection. If the code stays, the front motor needs replacement. |
| 109 | Communication error, display to front controller | The front controller is not sending a signal to the display. Check the connections between them. |
| 110 | Communication error, front controller to display | The display is not sending a signal to the front controller. Check the connections between them. |
| 111 | Front controller MOSFET overheating | The front controller temperature is high. Rest the scooter and wait for the controller to cool down. |
| 112 | Front motor overheating | The front motor temperature is high. Rest the scooter and wait for the motor to cool down. |
| 114 | Front motor temperature warning | The temperature is high. Rest the scooter and wait for the motor temperature to lower before riding again. |
| 117 | Front controller over current fault | This points to a front controller failure. The controller needs replacement. |
| 118 | Front motor cogging | Check the front motor and remove any obstructions from the wheel. |
Rear controller error codes (200s)
| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 201 | Rear controller current fault | Turn the scooter off and on again to see if the code stays. If it does, the rear controller needs replacement. |
| 202 | Rear motor hall sensor fault | Check the wiring from the motor to the controller, including the connectors, for damage or a loose connection. If the code stays, the rear motor needs replacement. |
| 209 | Communication error, display to rear controller | The rear controller is not sending a signal to the display. Check the connections between them. |
| 210 | Communication error, rear controller to display | The display is not sending a signal to the rear controller. Check the connections between them. |
| 211 | Rear controller MOSFET overheating | The rear controller temperature is high. Rest the scooter and wait for the controller to cool down. |
| 212 | Rear motor overheating | The rear motor temperature is high. Rest the scooter and wait for the motor to cool down. |
| 214 | Rear motor temperature warning | The temperature is high. Rest the scooter and wait for the motor temperature to lower before riding again. |
| 217 | Rear controller over current fault | This points to a rear controller failure. The controller needs replacement. |
| 218 | Rear motor cogging | Check the rear motor and remove any obstructions from the wheel. |
Other error codes (battery, brakes, throttle)

| 004 | Controller undervoltage | The battery is low. Charge the scooter. |
| 005 | Controller overvoltage | The battery is reading overvoltage. Please contact VoroMotors customer service. |
| 006 | Brake sensor fault | Press and release the brake levers again to make sure the sensor is not stuck. If the problem stays, the brake lever or levers need replacement. |
| 007 | Throttle fault | Twist and release the throttle again to make sure the sensor is not stuck. If the problem stays, the throttle needs replacement. |
A quick rule of thumb
Many codes, especially the overheating ones, simply want you to stop and let the scooter rest. If a code keeps coming back after a power cycle and a cool down, that is when a part may need attention. Send us the code and a short video and we will help you pin it down.
Where you buy the Inmotion RS decides the help you get
Here is something a lot of riders learn the hard way. A manufacturer is built to manufacture. That is what a factory does well, and it is genuinely all it is set up to do. It is not built to be a support network, it does not run a local service desk for individual riders, and it is not the place to turn when you have one scooter and one question that needs answering today. That is not a knock on the product. It is just not what a factory is for.
This is exactly why buying the Inmotion RS from VoroMotors matters. When you order from us, you are not just buying a scooter, you are buying a support network that stands behind it. We ride and service the Inmotion RS every single day. We stock genuine spare parts for it. We can read an error code with you, walk you through a fix, and get you the exact controller, motor, display, or brake part your scooter needs. Buy direct from a factory and a code like the ones above can leave you stuck with nowhere to call. Buy from VoroMotors and there is always a real person on the other end.
