The Hooga Daytona is an all-terrain hyper scooter, and out of the box it ships with a speed limit in place. Plenty of owners want to unlock the full top end for off-road and closed-course riding, and the good news is that it is a quick, tool-light, and fully reversible job. Before you touch anything, read the safety note below. This matters.

Unlocking the speed limit is intended for off-road, private-property, or closed-course riding only. Removing a speed limiter can make a scooter illegal to ride on public roads in many areas, and it may affect your warranty. It also puts you at higher speeds, which demands more skill, more stopping distance, and full protective gear including a proper helmet. Know and follow your local laws, ride within your limits, and if you are not fully comfortable doing this yourself, contact us and we will help.
Before you start
You do not need much. A pair of work gloves, a few minutes, and a flat spot to stand the scooter. Do the whole thing with the scooter powered off. And remember the most reassuring part: nothing here is cut or permanent. The change is reversible at any time by reconnecting one plug, so you can always put the limit back.
The three steps

1Unwrap the cable velcro
At the top of the stem, just below the controller, the wiring harness is bundled together with a velcro strap. Unwrap that velcro to free the cables so you can reach the connectors underneath.

2Find and take out the SMT connector
Inside that bundle is a small connector, the speed-limit connector. Gently unplug it and tuck it neatly to the side. This is the single connector that caps the top speed.

3Reboot the scooter
Power the scooter fully off, then turn it back on using the control unit on the handlebar. When it boots back up, the limit is lifted and the full top speed is available.
How to put the speed limit back
Just as easy. Unwrap the velcro again, plug the SMT connector back in, wrap the cables up, and reboot the scooter. The limit returns exactly as it was from the factory. Because you are only connecting or disconnecting one plug, you can switch back and forth as your riding situation changes.
Ride it right
More speed is more fun, and it is also more responsibility. Give yourself room, wear your gear every single time, keep the limit on for anything near traffic or public paths, and save the unlocked top end for open, off-road space where you have room to make mistakes. If anything about the wiring looks different on your unit, stop and message us before you pull a connector.
