Why These Three Bolts Matter More Than You Think

Every time you hit a bump, these linkage bolts are rotating under load, which means they work loose faster than most fasteners on the scooter. Lose one, and the rear end starts clunking. Ignore it long enough, and you can damage the linkage bushings or the frame mount itself.

All three bolts are M8 thread diameter. The difference is length, and that length determines exactly where each one goes in the suspension linkage stack.

The most visually distinctive bolt is E7371. It uses a red anodized nut at the lower shock mount. If you are ever unsure which bolt goes where during reassembly, that red nut is your anchor point. Everything else positions off of it.

Yes. The rear suspension linkage geometry is shared between the E Ride Pro SS 2.0 and the SS 3.0. Installation Notes
A few things worth knowing before you go in:
These linkage bolts thread through aluminum linkage arms and into steel or aluminum pivots depending on the exact position. Do not over-torque. M8 bolts in aluminum linkage are typically torqued to 20-25 Nm. Going beyond that risks stripping the threads in the linkage arm, which turns a $13.95 repair into a full linkage replacement.
Apply a small amount of blue threadlocker (Loctite 243 or equivalent) to the threads before installation. The rear suspension sees constant vibration, and plain bolts will work loose over time without it. This is almost certainly why the factory uses it on the red-nut lower shock bolt. The color-coded nut is a signal that this is a torque-sensitive fastener.
Inspect the bushings while you have the linkage apart. If the rubber or polyurethane bushings show cracking or the metal sleeves have any lateral play, replace them at the same time. A fresh set of bolts on worn bushings will not give you back the tight suspension feel you are after.
