You go to charge your Arctic Leopard XE Pro R, line the charger up, and it will not go in. It feels blocked, or it sits proud and never clicks home. Before you start worrying about a bent pin or a faulty charger, read this: on the XE Pro R this is usually a clearance issue, not a fault. The battery sits flush enough that the charge connector does not have quite the room it needs to seat fully.
The short answer
Pull the battery slightly backwards first, then plug the charger in. That small amount of extra room is all the connector needs to seat properly. Nothing is broken and nothing needs replacing.
Before you touch anything, read this
You are working around a high capacity battery and a mains powered charger, so treat it with respect. Have the bike switched off and the charger unplugged from the wall while you reposition the battery. Never force the connector: if it will not seat with gentle pressure, stop and check that the pins are straight, clean and dry rather than pushing harder. Do not modify the charger, the plug or the port to make them fit. If the battery feels loose, damaged, hot or swollen at any point, stop and contact us before charging.

Step by step

1Switch the bike off and unplug the charger from the wall. Do the repositioning with nothing live, then connect power afterwards.

2Ease the battery slightly backwards. A small amount of movement is all you need. You are not removing it, just giving the charge port the clearance it is missing.

3Line the charger up and plug it in. With that extra room the connector should seat fully and positively. Use gentle, even pressure and never force it.

4Confirm it is actually charging. Check that the charger indicator shows a charging state before you walk away. If it does not, unplug, reseat and try again rather than leaving it.
If it still will not seat
If the connector refuses to go in even with the battery eased back, do not force it. Unplug everything and check three things: that the pins in the charger and the port are straight and undamaged, that both are clean and completely dry, and that you are using the correct charger for the XE Pro R rather than one from another machine that happens to have a similar plug. If all three check out and it still will not seat, take a short video of what you are seeing and send it to us.
