Whenever you work on the front end of your Arctic Leopard XE Pro R, the fasteners that hold the fork and the front wheel need to go back to the correct torque. Too loose and they can work free while you ride, too tight and you can strip or damage the threads. Here are the key torque values for the crown clamps and the wheel axle, so you can button everything back up with confidence.

Use a torque wrench

These are safety-critical fasteners on your steering and front wheel. Use a proper torque wrench and set it to the exact value, do not guess by feel. If a fastener will not reach torque, or keeps loosening, stop and contact us before you ride.

What each one holds

The top and bottom crown clamp screws are the bolts that clamp the fork tubes into the triple clamp. Both the top crown and the bottom crown screws are tightened to 13 Nm. Keeping them at the right torque is what holds your fork square and secure without crushing the tubes. The wheel axle is the main shaft that holds the front wheel in the fork, and it is tightened to 60 Nm, which is much higher because it carries the load of the wheel and everything the front end goes through.

A quick tip

When you refit the fork, snug the crown clamp screws evenly and in stages rather than tightening one fully at a time, so the fork tubes clamp square. Then do a final pass to 13 Nm. Always torque the axle to 60 Nm before riding.
