What you need
- Hex keys
- An 18 mm socket or wrench
- A sturdy block to rest the front of the deck on
Remove the front wheel from an EMOVE Cruiser V2
- Power off and lift the front wheel. Turn the scooter off and unplug the charger. Rest the front of the deck on a sturdy block so the front wheel hangs in the air and spins freely. If yours is the dual motor (AWD) Cruiser V2, unplug the front motor cable at its plug too. The single motor version has no front motor, so there is no cable to unplug.
- Take off the brake caliper. The red caliper is on the right side of the scooter, bolted to the front arm with 2 bolts. Undo both, then lift the caliper up and off the disc. Leave the brake cable connected and let the caliper hang out of the way. Do not squeeze the brake lever while the disc is out.
- Remove both axle nuts. Hold the wheel still and undo the flanged nut on each end of the axle. In the 3D model they have an 18 mm hex. Keep any washers in the order they came off.
- Slide the wheel forward, then down. The axle sits in slots in the two front arms that open towards the front of the scooter. Push the wheel forward until the axle leaves both slots, about 4 cm, then lower it out. It will not drop straight down, because the arms hold the axle from below. The wheel and disc come out together.
Putting it back
Refit in reverse: lift the wheel up into place and slide the axle back fully into both slots, fit both axle nuts, then bolt the caliper back over the disc. On a dual motor scooter, plug the front motor cable back in. Spin the wheel and check the front brake stops it before you ride.
How this guide was made
These steps are worked out from EMOVE's factory 3D model of the Cruiser V2, and checked with a collision test in that model. It is not an EMOVE service manual, and the model carries no torque values, so none are given here. If something on your scooter does not match, stop and send us a photo.
