How Do I Keep an Electric Scooter Running Long-Term?

All electric scooters, even rental scooters, require maintenance. To get the most life out of your scooter, you need to maintain and repair it on a regular basis. That includes checking the scooter before and after you ride it, and making sure everything is working properly.

As a form of motorized transportation, some parts will need replacement over time while others parts may need repair if they get damaged or stop working.

Consumable parts are things like the brake pads, brake rotors, and tires, which should be checked regularly and replaced when no longer performing optimally. Consumables are usually easy to replace yourself.

Spare parts, like the deck, swingarms, and stem, may need to be replaced if they get damaged in an accident or aren’t working properly. These component parts are generally more difficult to replace, requiring more specialized tools and technical experience.
