We just unboxed the new Inmotion RS 3.0. It is the latest full power RS, and the first one with a color touchscreen. Inmotion listened to riders on this one: the thumb throttle Jet owners kept asking for is here, and so are a brighter headlight, a steering damper and stronger brakes.
Watch the first look below, then scroll for every change, photo by photo. And if you want to know what the new screen feels like, we built one you can tap.

What changed on the RS 3.0
1. A thumb throttle

A lot of RS Jet owners told us they prefer a thumb throttle over the half twist. Inmotion put one on the RS 3.0. The cockpit also changes shape: the old RS had a straight handlebar, the 3.0 has a raised and curved one.
2. A color touchscreen with a lock feature

The display is the Inmotion Jet TFT, now on the RS: a touchscreen, bigger than before, with the same functions. There is also a lock feature that only the RS 3.0 has. It pairs with the Inmotion app, so we did not show it in the unboxing. You can try the screen yourself further down this page.
3. A 17W headlight

The new headlight is 17W, compared with 12W on the previous version. Twin lenses, and it throws further.
4. An external steering damper

The RS 3.0 adds an external damper to keep the handlebar stable at high speed.
5. 2,200W motors and 8,800W peak

Each motor is rated 2,200W and uses a bigger, better connector. With both motors combined, peak output is 8,800W, which is what makes steep hills easy.
6. A 72V 40Ah pack on Samsung 50S cells

The 3.0 carries a UL2849 certified 72V 40Ah pack: 20 groups in series, 8 cells in each, 160 Samsung 21700 cells. They are Samsung 50S, a high power cell rated for 25A continuous, where the RS Lite uses Samsung 50GB energy cells rated for 9.8A. More and more high performance scooters are moving to the 50S, and the point is simple: the controller gets the current it asks for, and the pack does not struggle on a long climb.
7. Four piston calipers

The 3mm thick rotors carry over, because they already worked well. What changes is the caliper: the RS 3.0 moves up to four piston hydraulic calipers.
8. Still adjustable

If you want a higher ride or a lower one, you still get the choice. The RS 3.0 keeps the slots that let you raise or lower the ride.
Try the RS 3.0 screen yourself
We built a working copy of the RS 3.0 display into the product page. Power it on, punch in any four digits, dig through the settings and slide to lock, just like on the bar. Here is the tour.

Tap the screen yourself. This is the actual RS 3.0 display. Software updates may change the UI over time.
