The short version: the older plug-and-play cable was found to cause overheating issues, which is why we made a full transition to the wired version back in May 2025. The wired setup isn’t a downgrade — it’s the upgraded design that prevents heat buildup and improves long-term reliability.

It’s possible that when you spoke with our support rep, they only mentioned that the plug-and-play was “out of stock,” without explaining the technical reason behind it. That’s on us — sometimes our frontline team doesn’t have the full engineering context. But please know that this change was made to protect riders and their bikes, not to cut corners.
